In redoing the story, it was established that the love interest of Terish being purely Straekin with some allowances for the centaurs. Thaunya was then recast as a dancer from Davelda that gets recruited to travel with Terish and Straekin. Thaunya suddenly developed into a full character and has earned her place in the stories.
