True Resurrection (3.0 PH)

Conjuration (Healing)

Level: Clr 9, Healing 9
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Touch
Target: One dead creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None (see text)
Spell Resistance: Yes (Harmless)

The casting of this spell will restore life to a creature that has not been dead more than 10 years per caster level. This spell will restore any creature that the caster can unambiguously identify it. It cannot put life into previously unliving objects (ex. constructs). It can however restore life to bodies which had been undead. Those who have died due to old age cannot be restored to life by this spell. Souls that for some reason do not want to return to their mortal form are not forced, so this spell can fail even when conditions are good (this should however not be a random roll, but a matter of personality).

This spell will restore full hit points. Any ability scores are raised to their normal level. Normal poison and normal disease are cured in the process of raising the subject, but the DM may rule that certain magical afflictions are not dispelled (although most should be). This spell will close mortal wounds and repair lethal damage, but will not restore missing parts. None of the subject's equipment will be affected by this spell.

There is no apparent handicap for suffering the turmoil of death. The subject is restored to the level he was at which death occurred. The person raised may be considered to be in the same mental form he was upon death, with the ability to cast unused spells and such.

Material Component: A sprinkle of holy water and a diamond worth at least 5,000gp.

--- Editor's Comments ---
Regenerate is a 7th level spell, so this spell cannot be assumed to restore lost body parts.
