World: One of the many in the omniverse
The story is that Terish Dozzrine came to Davelda as he heard that it had information on some legendary item. The immortals of Davelda quickly realized that Terish was not a native, and that he rode a strange horse (this was before the time of Raedell). In seeking to learn of this visitor, they found him speaking of magic with the ability to do fantastic things. They thus sought Terish to teach them. In the process, the empress of Davelda, Straekin, also sought an audience with him. That association began the relationship that exists to this day.

Davelda is a world of immortals. The people discovered the secret to immortality by making use of their reproductive organs. Instead of coming to terms with the medical process, the people of Davelda went to war. Straekin was a member of a diplomatic group, although also had lost her fiance in one of the first attacks of the war. She was thus used as a propaganda figure, although managed to improve her worth by taking more and more authority for her faction. When her group won the war, she became selected as the world leader. She never lost the faith of the people of Davelda, and even though absent is still considered their empress.

Davelda itself is presented as a world in a rut. All speak of Terish's trouble with the world just because its ruler sought to spend time with him. One of the subplots of the story arch of Terish Dozzrine is the changes that come to Davelda.

The world of Davelda has a very high technology level. It has floating cars and a very expansive communications network. It has almost no magic with those that claimed such powers being only performers. Terish taught those of Davelda to use inter-dimensional abilities and not magic.

Note that the horses of Davelda were found to be notably intelligent and able to handle the rigors of inter-dimensional travel. A group learned from Terish in how to train the horses, and have developed a rather lucrative business providing horses for inter-dimensional travelers. While those of Davelda do not really travel through the omniverse, the horses of Davelda have gained recognition by those that move between worlds.
