Bards, Tails & Poetic License Tales by TerishD : To Dominate While Unseen: Chapter Four

Chapter Four

Jackal felt the tug on his pants forcing his body down into the mist. He had no idea about how far down it was to the bottom, but he did know certain things about climbing. Truthfully, the one he needed to save was at the bottom of the rift. He was thus not against the idea of descending.

The chase after Dethii continues as our heroes find out some of the troubles around them.

Chapter Three

Truthfully, Jackal considered the situation to be similar to one he was in earlier. He was with Rain at the time, but the odds were still two against a company of men. The opponents at that time were armored as were those presently surrounding them. This situation was actually better, because at that time he and his companion were scantily attired and polymorphed into ladies. Of course, those previous soldiers were mesmerized by a Lamia and not exactly working at full mental capacity, but Jackal still eyed the present opponents feeling that he could evade them.

Yep, back from my vacation. Have plenty of ideas to keep the story continuing.

"Poor gal Kimber," Donna said to Sarn as she brought him the stew he ordered.  She also carried a small plate of the fatty and gristle cuttings that hadn't gone into the stew.  "Then again, poor everyone.  Ye've given the gals in this town quite a stir-up, y'know."  She winked at him.  "Oh, I brought this for the dog, if he wants it."

Chapter Two

Jackal was rushing to the horses almost as fast as Rain was realizing the change in situation, and he had to speak to catch himself up with plans. "Wait, Jackal, how do you know Dethii was taken?"

"It was an attack, Rain. I am going after whatever out of honor if nothing else."

And the story continues as our heroes attempt to rescue their friend.

Chapter One

The evening festivities were quite enjoyable. Dethii learned that she was lucky that her friends had not left the royal city. The present celebration was not an annual event that they could have known would be coming, but a joyful occasion brought about because the king had his daughter, and only heir to the throne, returned.

Thus starts the activity of the new Jackal and Rain tale.

Maybe a Lack of Despair

Terish was doing his best to ignore his wounds. He put a lot of confidence in his ability to evade the attacks of his opponents, but that skill had been curtailed in the last battle. One problem was the constant hard rain making the deck of the boat very slippery. Another problem was the strong gusts of wind that would cause his body to uncontrollably move. It certainly did not help that he had ropes securing him to the boat due to foreknowledge of the coming rain and wind. Terish however felt that he still could have avoided most of the clawed hands that reached for him, but he simply had not put his mind to work detecting where and when the monsters would attack. He and his friends were now close to their destination because he had managed to navigate the ship to a breech between realities and through alternate planes. It really hurt the silk and leather attired man that all his efforts were now being turned into a rationale for a final line of death.

Terish and Terdeskollit face each other as the story concludes.

"I wish I had a love potion for him," Emarie sighed, leaning on the stall door.
"Who has one?" Kimber asked, turning from her horse. The old grey reached over and bumped her with his nose until she started currying again.
"Breddie does," Emarie grimaced. "Who else?"

Plans of the Mighty

Medalpha had moved through the wooden walls to sit with Celatia. The centaur was braced in a stall doing her best to remain calm as the boat rocked from the divine agitation outside. The amber haired half-horse had been singing songs, and it was those tunes that had brought the princess. Vocal lessons were part of the normal schooling of the young noble, and she did find the activity entertaining. Celatia had been singing to calm herself, but allowed Medalpha to use the musical lyrics to attempt to escape from reality.

The group finds themselves facing death as their goal looms before them.

No Friends Away from Shore

Terdeskollit could not be more pleased. Events were going as well as could be expected. He might have begun knowing little of those with whom he was dealing, but had been studying the group. A proud feeling of superiority came over the God as he again felt in control.

The heroes face the challenges of the deity determined to achieve their victory.
