Posted by Headfoot on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 (10:59:17) (913 reads) 1 comment |
This particular Forgotten Realms add-on released by Wizards gives you a cursed item (which I might jsut use....), a useful spell and an NPC to go with the other two.
Good for a random NPC encounter.

Chapter Seventeen - Part 3
The land was definitely getting rounder. Coming to the top of another hill, the three could see tall points of rock off in the distance that they assumed to be the Beyshathile mountains. All of them had seen mountains, but those ahead were nothing like the rises of land they were used to seeing. The mountains looked like jagged teeth of some enormous lower monster jaw.
The Athurly River became less of a strong current of water. The river became more shallow with sections of peaceful pools behind rushes of water over smooth stones. The Eglets continued to watch for fish, but found themselves more concerned about their footing as the ground became steeper and more rocky.
Answers are finally given to our heroes.

Legends of Lyros: General Reborn - Chapter 1 Part 2

Colin’s memory was still coming back as he walked toward the healing tent trying to be as uninteresting as possible. Especially vivid in his mind now was that mace swinging in a perfect arc straight towards his head. He remembered ducking, but it must have clipped him and knocked him out he thought. He felt the side of his head and winced. He was amazed that the blow didn’t break the skin.

New FREE original adventure
Posted by Atlan on Friday, March 26, 2004 (14:50:10) (577 reads) comments? |
WotC has published a new free adventure for download on their website.
Quote:
Earthquakes, tidal waves, and volcanic eruptions have suddenly wracked Porthaven, a city normally known for its mild weather and calm seas. The root of the problem is an arcane machine built to protect the city 300 years ago by extraplanar creatures called modrons. Now the machine has run out of fuel, and it's up to the PCs to obtain more by visiting each of the four elemental planes. Can they get the machine working again before the city of Porthaven is wiped from the earth? Drop the latest miniadventure for D&D v.3.5 by Mark A. Jindra into any coastal area with mountains nearby. Suitable for four 18th-level characters.
Filesize is about 2.4 Mb

Chapter Seventeen - Part 2
The three were finishing their daily morning ritual of finishing what was left in the pot. This world had no preservatives and they had heard it mentioned that it was considered a crime to allow food to spoil. They occasionally commented about desiring an ice chest, but realized that they had not seen ice. Oggelly did quiz his sister about magically creating some, but found her answering with some mumbo-jumbo about moving fire from water. He let the matter drop.
"Hail to the camp."
The three turned to see a group of horsemen about twenty yards away. They had probably heard the beat of hooves, but were more concerned with their morning business. They often spoke about managing to kill a large animal such as a deer, but generally only heard the movement of such animals before they ever saw them. While they had eaten snake, none of the three had considered eating horse.
Events start to build as our heroes get drawn into a situation involving their origins.

Legends of Lyros: General Reborn - Chapter 1 Part 1

The man opened his eyes and stopped spinning around. Struggling through the dizziness, his eyes glanced from place to place searching. Then he saw what he was looking for. He caught a glimpse of a giggling brown haired boy running barely visible in the tall grass. A slight smile came to the man’s face.
“You won’t catch me papa.” A voice said.
Note: A captivating start. Must read.

More transition classes from Wizards.
Posted by Headfoot on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 (19:54:28) (908 reads) comments? |
This might be old new to those of you who check wizards everyday, but these transition classes might be fun in some situations.
Go to Transition Classes to check them out.
Note: EDIT by Atlan: This is an article in the "Savage Progressions" series and handles the transiton (as the name says) of a race to a special one (template). So as aasimar would e.g. change to a half-celestial over a number of levels. END EDIT
