Chapter Fourteen - Part 2
As Sylvia entered her suite, Mially signaled that she had a visitor in the front room. The yellow haired lady saw it to be her brother, so was not alarmed. She only asked the maid concerning the level of beer in the pitcher set near Oggelly. Mially promised to refill it.
Sylvia spoke as she entered the front room. "What brings you here, Oggelly?"
"Just checking on you, Sylvia. I saw you and Larruth looking so charming as you stood together on the outer wall."
Personalities are developed in this installment along with some slight plot advancement.

Chapter Fourteen - Part 1
It was only a couple more days of travel before the group came to Castle Hassalatoid. They were welcomed by the castle officials who had heard stories of the four. When presented with the letter of introduction from the viscount, the group was assigned a wonderful set of suites across the hall from each other. The suites were designed to be used by a high ranking dignitary, his wife, and assorted servants. The men settled into their apartment with Larruth gaining the noble's room, Feladin the wife's, and Oggelly crashing in whichever one of the servant's quarters he stumbled into. Sylvia and Mially found the lady's room in their suite more than comfortable.
The castle staff treated the guests with maximum respect. The group responded by acting with grace. There was a blue-green headed knight of the realm, named Dengistriv, who was left in charge of the castle, but he allowed Sylvia to control the conversation at the meals. The minor noble gained enough respect for the company that he allowed Larruth to sit at the head of the table and would come to one of the party to discuss certain matters.
Another holiday, and again our group uses it to discover more about their new world.

Chapter 13 - Part 3
Idurraine was at work with a helper sawing a log into boards. The tall elf with a physique firm from centuries of hard work looked towards his house. He was not certain what caught his eye, but he was certain who was now moving to his door. Idurraine felt a need to yell to the royal mage.
"Welcome, Aynaglitian!" The mage turned to the woodcutter, so Idurraine lowered his voice. "My wife was up late last night with a delivery. Our race does not normally have the troubles of the humans, but last night was an exception. She spent time with the children this morning, but I suspect has gone back to bed."
The plot is advanced as minor matters get handled. By the way, thanks to Thema for helping with enabling me to get this new site learned (of course, it was either that or get bothered by my PMs every 5 days - HA! - thanks Olly).

Chapter Thirteen - Part 2
The conversation came back to Sylvia the next morning. Mially woke her as she came back from taking her bath. The maid and Sylvia tended to wake up about the same time with Mially going to bathe while the mage went to perform her exercises. Sylvia instead turned over and went back to sleep. It was unusual, but not without precedent. Still, Mially knew to get Sylvia moving so she could get her bath before the men got moving.
The yellow haired lady left the tent surprised to see the camp still quiet. Larruth was getting regular at waking up with her. He generally waited until he heard her moving about however, so she suspected he was awake just still in his tent. Well, she would skip the exercises this morning and go ahead and take her bath.
Sylvia is put into a situation where she has to prove herself as a lady.

Chapter Thirteen - Part 1
The party continued west. The elven forest seemed to go on forever. The party stopped at towns to trade excess meat for fruits, vegetables, and what silver coins could be bartered from the buyer. Oggelly started disappearing to late night sessions at local establishments where he sought to perform and earn a few more coins. Feladin would sometimes leave with the minstrel, but Sylvia normally was satisfied staying with the camp working alone on her magic or with Larruth on her Elvish and social skills.
She did spend time alone with him being a little intimate. Talking with Larruth was not hard. He liked to speak on certain topics, and as long as those subjects were available he was willing to speak on others. The prince often spoke of his dissatisfaction with other ladies being that they would not consider certain topics worth their time, so he in turn did not consider those ladies worth his time. He was more than willing to talk on any topic Sylvia desired, because he knew she would also speak to him on his topics.
Interesting data is revealed concerning how relationships are evolving.

Chapter Twelve - Part 3
Baron Hibrulniz was very pleased to meet the travelers. He was not aware of their movements in the forest, but he did remember reading some fantastic reports concerning Prince Larruth and those he had left home to journey with. The baroness was more familiar with the reports, and was elated to meet the travelers. She had Sylvia discuss her adventures with her friends, then go into detail about her meetings with Larruth and his family.
The baron found the stories as entertaining as his wife, although he was more intrigued about Jerusalem. While it was known that not all of the deities had declared after the establishing of the Order of Vintagelle, it was a rare event that one heard about those other gods and even more rare for one of them to declare. Feladin was thus requested to spend a good amount of time discussing his newly declared goddess. He was by now used to the process. The questions from the noble only pressed the human’s desire for sleep, with all four finding their heads beginning to droop as the evening was prolonged by the curiosity of their hosts.
A face-off with a respected witch comes forcing our group to again realize a difficulty with their goals.

Chapter Twelve - Part 2
The trees of the forest changed as the group proceeded west. From the tame fruit trees of Quershallivat, the canopy started to completely hide the sky as it moved higher above their heads. The architecture of those who lived in these domains became more gothic in design. Even the private dwellings had strange protrusions that made them appear slightly eerie. While none of the group felt at home, Larruth did start telling stories of what he had heard about the western forest as he pointed out things that supported the tales.
Small game became harder to find. Feladin and Oggelly spoke of their early days of travel when they basically survived on birds and squirrels. The squirrels were now too high in the trees, and they had the same problem with birds. Rabbits were plentiful, but the dark canopy kept the underbrush to a minimum so large game could often be seen in the distance. One deer could last a few days, and the minstrel and Larruth enjoyed firing the crossbow. The group was thus getting used to eating venison.
A fight with a most strange monster forces the group to respond to something they had yet to suffer.

Chapter Twelve
The four were leaving Iylytton. Feladin felt a divine signal telling him that some magical eavesdropping was present around them. He thus kept up a constant chatter about the wonderful stones in the walls of the castle, the lovely dirt revealed in the ruts of previous wagons along their path, and how brilliant the sun was. The others got the hint to keep up their charade, so helped the priest keep the banter going.
Finally, "Okay, Sylvia, tell us what you will."
"Eric is dead." She waited for the comments to cease before she continued. "There was a picture of the elven forest on the way to my room. I stopped to look at it. Remember that I said that I moved the globe to place us on the other side of the mountains closer to the ocean? Well, the globe was originally showing the location of a town north of here called Nochwellin."
Things are resolved from the last chapter even as the topics are advanced for later development.

Chapter Eleven - Part 4
Sylvia was again a cheerful presence at the midday meal. A number of those present had heard about her closed door session with the duke and duchess, but nothing definite was revealed. The lady and the high nobles would only pass charming words between each other.
A few tried to gain a truth by working on the men who had charged into the castle as if to affect a rescue. Feladin said that when Sylvia failed to show, he was scared the lady was telling some poor guard about the creatures she had fought. Oggelly claimed that he heard Sylvia was walking around naked and was just rushing to have a look. Larruth knew that he could not best the minstrel's story, so simply called him a liar. Oggelly retracted his statement saying that he heard Sylvia was only trying out part of a dress that Mially was making, so she was only naked on the right side. The prince again called the minstrel a liar. By the time Larruth had Oggelly fully retract his statements and apologize, the entire table had been entertained and ready to move to another topic.
Just because a major encounter was survived does not mean that the plot is slowing down.

Chapter Eleven - Part 3
Duke Neymartain was handling morning business with his officials when his wife barged in with Sylvia. The young lady moved to stand near a wall as the duchess commanded the officials to leave. This was extremely irregular, but the duke was not about to challenge his wife. He told those present to have his son settle any remaining problems.
Sylvia watched as the room was cleared. She listened as the duchess gave orders for the personal servants to exit as well. The young lady thought it a little extreme for Gyllailor to lock the doors, but Sylvia actually felt safer as it occurred. She wanted this event to be private.
Sylvia faces one she holds accountable for being who and where she is.
