Okay, things are getting quiet again. I thus am again considering topics to post here in order to hopefully get things active. My problem is that my life is slightly complicated at the moment. Instead of a gaming topic, I am thus simply doing an 'Update on My Life' thread.
1) Moving: I finally have access to the piece of family property that I have always wanted. My mother actually owns it at the moment, but that is just a momentary complication (not really, my mother is a fantastic lady). I have been working to clean it up. Last week I laid down 800 ft. of pipe to run water back to where I want to settle. Bought a trailer to act as a home yesterday. Hopefully get the water connected to the public system this coming week, and I can get started on electricity and sewage. With that done, I then will start calling it home, although there is still a lot of work.
2) Gaming, Old: Those that pay attention to links can see that I have changed my sig at the bottom. My new rule book is printed, hard back, and looks wonderful. My players continue to find faults, but it is nice hearing them gripe about something new.
3) Gaming, New: I really do not know if there are gamers up where I am moving. In looking for the plumbing store last week I did find 'Bobbie's Hobbies' in the town. I suspect that it is a arts/craft store with some train stuff, but I did not go in. I plan to do that this week, and see if I can find any role-players.
4) Job: Yep, still unemployed. More prospects up where I am moving than where I am at. I am thus doubly eager to make the move.
Okay, such is my life. I will try to come up with something gaming related later. How are the rest of you doing?

Good luck on the job hunting, Terish! Hope you find a really great job that will pay well and be enjoyable.

I had a look at your book link, and wow, 400+ pages and a great cover. I hope you sell enough of them that you don't need to go find a "real job" and can live off of gaming. That is the dream, and if any of us are going to succeed at it, I think you are the most likely of possibilities. I'd buy a copy myself, if not for the fact that I am also unemployed.
Congratulations on your property and improvements on it, too. I've put in a few pads in my life and I have to say even if it's a trailer, having a home that you put on soil yourself and plumbed in from public water or from a well just gives a sense of accomplishment that renting or leasing a place someone else built and finished beforehand can't provide. I hope it treats you well for years to come.

Thanks.
Trailer is up on the property and the initial water payments have been made. The next big problem is sewage. My problem is that locally no one will talk to me of sewage treatment plants, because of local rules (I am supposed to talk to a contractor). The local people's problems are --
1) My property is not local
2) Contractors are not the easiest people to talk to
3) I am not going to hire anyone without facts
Up where I am moving I can buy the sewage treatment plant and do it myself. Technically, I could let my feces simply pile on the ground (yep, I am that far into nowhere), but no one wants that. I thus need to take the time on my next trip to simply go around and talk to the businesses that sell sewage treatment plants. Ooh, fun.
About making money off my game, I understand that presently there are a lot of game rules out there. I am not basing my finances off my game, so my game cannot go out of business. Where I believe that I am making money off the game, is that I am not paying someone else for their updated rule books (we all know that 5.0 will be coming), then having to work myself to update my campaign to new rules. While some minor fixes might occur, my rules are my rules and will stay my rules.
Just for note, there is a campaign manual coming, and my power gamers want a monster manual (you know, so they can see the rules for certain monsters so finally be able to know what strategy works best). I would like to see the campaign manual come together, as it will have the price lists and some other necessary information that I felt was not proper for the rule book. As for the monster manual, please, there are already enough of those in existence. While I have made up a few monsters purely from my imagination, most I simply pull from one of my books and convert with a twist of my own. I am not going to take credit for another version of a wolf, snake, or spider. There is no need for my interpretation of a Kobold, Gnoll, or Ogre. I definitely will NEVER waste space with an enhanced Barbarian Orc, Druid Treant, or Wizard Yuan-Ti (sorry, but if you cannot do your own enhancements, let someone else DM).

Hey TD,
Will you have internet connectivity in your trailer? I think that would be hard to get out there, unless you went with satellite. How far off in the sticks is this little paradise?
I feel kind of out of touch lately, so what happened to your teaching job? Budget cuts?

Internet? Yes, I do have satellite TV now, and it does offer internet. Getting TV and internet thus is very possible, although I have heard stories of satellite internet service.
About teaching, well, budget cuts and the fact that I actually teach. I do not entertain students. My attitude is that learning is fun, so give it a chance. Not that many students do however, especially since I teach math and science -- two subjects most students actually hate (I will save you my soapbox sermons as to why). I however believe that I should resume teaching in August, but time will tell.
